Job Description

    Function:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the Hospitality R&D team (furniture, lamps, accessories) to meet quality standards, project requirements, and deadlines.
  • Assist the R&D Manager in team leadership, process optimization, and departmental goal achievement.

    • Supervisory & Leadership Role:

  • Assign, prioritize, and track daily workload for Designers, Draftsmen, and R&D staff based on project timelines.
  • Monitor performance, deliver technical coaching, and support onboarding and training for new team members.
  • Ensure team compliance with company SOPs, work instructions, and design standards.
  • Identify schedule delays, technical risks, or process bottlenecks; propose proactive solutions and escalate critical issues to management.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture and prepare regular progress and performance reports.

    • Functional & Technical Execution:

  • Review design concepts, technical drawings, and specifications (aesthetics, function, cost, safety) before manager approval.
  • Guide research on new materials, hardware, finishes, and design techniques tailored for hospitality projects.
  • Partner with Sample Workshop, Production, CS, and Sales to oversee sample development from drawing to final completion.
  • Utilize 2D/3D design software to assist in development, customer presentations, and maintaining design documentation.
Requirements

    Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related technical fields; professional certifications in design or furniture development are an advantage.

    • Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in furniture design, product development, or R&D (preferably in hospitality projects, high-end furniture, or international manufacturing environments).
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in supervising, coordinating, or leading a small design/R&D team.
  • Strong practical knowledge of furniture construction, materials, hardware, finishes, sample development, and production processes.

    • Skills:

  • Proficient in 2D/3D design software, reading technical drawings, sketching, and furniture structural engineering.
  • Good communication skills in English and Vietnamese to coordinate effectively across departments.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and task prioritization abilities.
